In the picturesque region of Beelbangera, New South Wales, Dee Vine Estate was founded on the foundation set by Michele and Domenico Scarfone—Italian immigrants who began their journey in 1956. This esteemed winery has evolved through three generations. Danisa Calderon, Winemaker, and Danny Toaldo, Senior Winemaker at Dee Vine Estate Pty Ltd, provided insights into their storied history and their commitment to producing exceptional wines.
Dee Vine Estate's journey began with the Scarfone brothers, whose passion for winemaking laid the foundation for a legacy that has grown significantly over the decades. The winery has expanded beyond the original land parcel, now under the stewardship of Adrian Bianchini and Fernando Rombola. Their dedication to upholding the family's winemaking principles ensures that each bottle reflects the unique character of the Riverina terroir.
Danny Toaldo's journey with Dee Vine Estate began in 1983 as a cellar hand, and by 1988, he had ascended to the role of winemaker. Since becoming Senior Winemaker in 2000, Toaldo has been integral in shaping the winery's success. His deep-rooted experience and passion for winemaking drive the estate’s pursuit of high-quality, distinctive wines.
Dee Vine Estate is committed to enhancing the quality of its wines through innovative practices. One such technique is the floating of white juice to ensure it remains fresh and clean before fermentation. This meticulous approach helps preserve the purity and clarity of the wine, contributing to its exceptional quality.
