Native to Argentina, Achala Wines represents a harmonious blend of nature, novelty, and passion. Founded by Walter Sinay, the winery's journey began in 2009 when renowned soil experts Pedro Parra and the Antonini team identified the region's potential for exceptional viticulture. Their studies revealed that the unique soils of Achala could yield remarkable wines, setting the foundation for the winery’s ambitious mission: a dedication to crafting high-quality wines that reflect the unique personality of its terroir. With a vision rooted in a profound appreciation for the land, Achala Wines is poised to carve its niche in the global wine market, appealing to discerning palates around the world.
Walter Sinay's love for nature and the outdoors inspired him from an early age. His childhood summers spent tending to horses and working the land at his aunt's property laid the groundwork for his future in winemaking. A transformative trip to Burgundy ignited his passion for wine, solidifying his dream of establishing vineyards. This dream materialised into Achala Wines, where the commitment to crafting high-quality wines is paramount.

At Achala Wines, innovation is at the heart of production. The winery employs the French technique of micro-terroir, ensuring that each varietal is meticulously matched to its ideal soil type. This approach involves in-depth studies of the vineyard's terroirs, leading to the selection of specific grape varieties, including Malbec, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc. This dedication to understanding the land not only enhances the quality of the wines but also elevates the brand's reputation.

What sets Achala Wines apart from others in the market is its singular terroir. The winery's soils, characterised by granite and weathered parent rock, are rich in calcium carbonate, imparting distinctive flavours to the wines. This unique geological composition distinguishes Achala’s offerings from those of other Argentine producers, emphasising the significance of terroir in winemaking.
Looking ahead, Achala Wines aims to establish a visitor centre to showcase its commitment to quality and craftsmanship. This centre will serve as a hub for wine enthusiasts, providing insights into the winemaking process and the passion that fuels it. Furthermore, the winery has its sights set on expanding its reach, with plans to make its wines available in key markets, including the UK, USA, and Spain.
