Triple Treat for Pazo Pondal at a Leading Wine Competition in London

Spanish Winery wins three awards at the prestigious London Wine Competition

Located in Rias Baxias (D.O), a sub-region in Arbo (Pontevedra), Pazo Pondal is a family winery with a rich heritage. Founded in 1998, this Spanish winery is known for producing wines that have a rich mixture of fruity and floral aromas.

Cuvee Pazo Pondal

The family owned winery won three awards at The London Wine Competition held in March, 2018. The Cuvee Pazo Pondal won two separate awards; the first was a gold medal in the still wines category and the second being the Best In Show award. Aging on its own, the Cuvee Pazo Pondal is aged in fine-grained French oak barrels for around 14 months. The nose has balsamic, mint and eucalyptus notes. Orange peel and quince help the citric part to stand out. A very lively wine, the fruit helps in the elegance and creates a great aftertaste.

The second award that the Cuvee Pazo Pondal won was the highly prestigious Best In Show award. This particular award is awarded to the best wines from various countries, and Cuvee Pazo Pondal was awarded the best wine from Spain.

Pazo Pondal Albarino

The Pazo Pondal, made from the Albarino grapes won a silver medal in the same category as the Cuvee Pazo Pondal. A premium brand from the Pazo Pondal winery, this wine is characterized by the shallow, acidic granite soils which help provide more body, less acidity and higher concentration in the wine.
